I have been enjoying my 2 week break from teaching. Josh and I went hiking today at the White Tank mountains. Josh has been many times but today was my first time. We went on about a 6 mile hike to a man made dam. I am exhausted from the hike but had a wonderful time. A complete workout!

Time Flies!
Hi All =)
I haven't posted in some time so I finally took some time today. Josh and I have been busy with work, church and hanging out with family & friends. Every Wed. we have been hosting our Junior High small groups. We have so much fun hanging out with teenagers. They have so much energy!
Work has been work. I am excited because I have this week left and then have a 2 week Christmas break. Oh so needed! We also have a half day on Friday..even better! My students are doing well. I have had so much change. I noticed that I have 4 students move and then I have had 5 new students within the last few weeks. It is very difficult to keep getting new students throughout the year. I fell like I have to start all over again with the procedures and daily routines. Fun, fun!!
On a side note, I wanted to share a photo of when Josh and I went to Flagstaff (and Grand Canyon) with my mom and brother. We had such a nice time. This photo was when we took some time to go hiking in Flagstaff. So beautiful!!

My Sister's Surprise Party
My sister Heather turned the big 30 on August 17th. My mom and I threw her a surprise party at Buca di Beppo in old town Scottsdale. We all had a blast and thankfully Heather was surprised. She never found out =) We celebrated with family and friends.

Cousin Emily & boyfriend Nick were awesome in their plan to get Heather
to the restaurant. Heather was so surprised and excited to see Kate and Kiersten.

She did her surprise face again for the camera.

Ryan and Miranda (and baby Mabry on the way)

Uncle Steve and Aunt Sue

Wow Is All I Can Say!!
Wow, is all I can say is because of all the time that has gone by! I know it has been some time since I posted so I am finally taking some time to do so. Josh and I have been so busy. At Radiant Church, Youth small groups started up and Josh and I are hosting the Junior High at our house. We had about 70+ Junior high students sign up but only 20 showed up. I am okay with the 1st turn out because I was stressing as to how we were going to have 70 teenagers in our house. I was going to put them to work by pulling weeds in our backyard!!! Just kidding!!
I started teaching Kindergarten a few weeks ago and I am so exhausted. I think teaching Kindergarten is so different than first grade. I have 19 students (12 boys and 7 girls). Kinder age are such movers. I have incorporated so much more movement activities because they have so much trouble sitting for an extended period of time. I keep praying for more patience and strength. I have been sick for a couple weeks too so that does not help =( I am thankful for this job and know God will help me through this year because I have a couple challenging boys who are keeping me on my toes.
Anyway, I am glad I was able to give you a brief update and share some small groups photos. I will try to be better about updating more often. Talk to you soon!

Thank you to my friends and family who came & celebrated with Josh & I. We really enjoyed hanging out!! Love you all :-) Good night!

Our 1st Home

Hi There!!
Wow, our first blog and our 1st home....how exciting!! After being married for a year, Josh & I purchased our 1st home in April 2008. I can honestly say that buying a house is fun but can be very time consuming and a bit stressful. One Saturday we looked at 30+ houses. The houses were starting to blend together and we were seeing stars! We finally narrowed down our choices and began the bidding frenzy. All turned out perfectly and we are now proud parents of this new house. Here are a couple pictures from when we bought the house. We will be painting and changing things up so you will see progress in future posts. Thank you for checking out our 1st Rahn Report. Hope you have a good night sleep :-)
